Plumber CV Format for Gulf Jobs 2026: PPR, UPVC, SVP and Pay

Gulf plumbing jobs are not one job. The Dubai Metro contractor wants a plumber who has joined PPR pipe with a fusion machine; the high-rise builder wants someone who has run UPVC drainage stacks through 30 floors; the Qatar MEP contractor wants a mix of water supply and drainage with pressure testing. A CV that only says "Plumber – 6 years" fits none of them clearly, so it waits at the bottom of the agent's WhatsApp.

This guide shows plumbers from India, Nepal, Pakistan and Bangladesh how to write a CV that matches what Gulf employers are asking for in 2026: the right title, the pipe materials to name, real lines for the experience section, the Saudi skill exam, and the pay in live vacancies.

Start with the pipes you know

The fastest way for an agent to match you is the pipe material and the system. Put them in your title line and summary:

• PPR (polypropylene) – hot and cold water supply, joined by heat fusion. Very common in UAE villas, towers and metro stations.
• UPVC / PVC – drainage, soil and waste, vent lines and rainwater, joined with solvent cement.
• HDPE – underground water and drainage mains, joined by butt or electro-fusion.
• GI and copper – older buildings, some hot water, chilled water and medical gas work.
• Cast iron and ductile iron – soil stacks and external drainage on some projects.

A title like Plumber – PPR & UPVC – Water Supply and Drainage – High-Rise answers the first three questions an MEP supervisor asks.

Which plumbing title fits you

• Plumber (Building) – bathrooms, kitchens, risers, water supply and drainage inside buildings.
• Plumber (Piping & Drainage) – external drainage, manholes, sewer and storm lines on infrastructure jobs.
• Pipe Fitter (Plumbing) – larger pipe, supports, valves and pumps rooms; overlaps with mechanical fitting.
• Maintenance Plumber – leaks, blockages, pumps and water heaters in hotels, hospitals and facility management.
• Plumbing Foreman – leads plumbers and helpers, reads drawings, raises material requests, prepares areas for inspection.

Supervisors trust numbers, floors and test results. Adapt the pattern with your own facts:

• Installed PPR hot and cold water supply in 120 apartments across 22 floors, including risers, branch lines and valve chambers.
• Ran UPVC soil, waste and vent stacks from roof to basement and connected them to the drainage network as per approved shop drawings.
• Pressure-tested water lines and carried out flow and leak tests on drainage before inspection, with zero rework on the consultant's checklist.
• Laid HDPE and UPVC external drainage with correct gradient using a level and laser, and built manhole connections.
• Fixed sanitary ware, floor drains, water heaters and booster pumps in a 250-room hotel fit-out.

The Saudi skill exam for plumbers

Plumbing was one of the trades on the first Indian list of Saudi Arabia's Skill Verification Program, alongside electricians, welders and pipe fitters (Arabian Business). The test has a theory part and a practical part, held at approved centres in India with Saudi Arabia's assessment partner Takamol (Gulf News). If you are applying for a Saudi plumbing visa from India, expect to pass it before the visa is stamped.

Mistakes that keep plumber CVs unread

• No pipe material. "Plumbing work" means nothing; "PPR and UPVC, 22-floor tower" means a lot.
• Plumber cum electrician cum AC. Unless the vacancy asks for a combined trade, keep plumbing alone.
• No testing experience. Pressure and flow tests are what inspectors check; mention them.
• Missing passport expiry. If it expires within a year, renew before you apply.
• Fake Gulf experience. One practical test shows it, and agents talk to each other.

The practical test

Expect to cut and join a PPR or UPVC pipe in front of the tester, fix a fitting set with correct alignment, and explain how you pressure-test a line. Some testers ask you to read a small layout drawing and mark the slope on a drain.
