Cleaning jobs are some of the most common Gulf vacancies, and Riyadh Season adds thousands of them every autumn. A cleaner on a festival site or restaurant keeps dining areas, washrooms and back-of-house spaces safe and presentable while crowds come and go. The work is physical and the shifts are long, but you need no formal qualification, and the salary is several times what similar work pays in India. Here is what a real September 2026 Riyadh Season circular offered, what the job involves, and how to give yourself the best chance of selection.
The September 2026 offer

- Salary: SAR 1,800 a month, fixed
- Meals: a free duty meal
- Visa: 6-month work visa through the Saudi e-visa route
- Selection: directly by the employer
That works out to about ₹40,500 a month at roughly ₹22.5 per riyal. Indeed India's March 2026 average for housekeepers and cleaners was about ₹13,810 a month, so the Riyadh job pays close to three times more.

Riyadh Season in brief
Riyadh Season is the Saudi capital's winter festival of concerts, sports events, food zones and attractions. The 2026 edition opens on 21 October and runs for about ten weeks, according to Gulf News. Venues include Boulevard World, Boulevard City, Wonder Garden, The Groves and the Farmers' Market, as TradeArabia lists. Every food court and restaurant in these zones needs a cleaning crew from morning to late night, which is why the drive offers short seasonal visas.
Who can apply
The circular did not ask for formal experience. What employers want:
- Good health and the stamina to stand and walk for a full shift
- Reliability: arriving on time for every shift, including weekends
- Willingness to follow hygiene and chemical-safety instructions
- Basic communication in Hindi, Urdu, English or Arabic with supervisors
Previous work in a hotel, hospital, mall, office or restaurant helps, because you already know cleaning routines and products.
Your shift, hour by hour
Before opening: collect your equipment, check the cleaning chemicals are labelled and diluted correctly, and do a first round of washrooms and dining tables.
During service: clear and wipe tables as guests leave, empty bins before they overflow, clean spills immediately and put out wet-floor signs, and check washrooms on the schedule your supervisor sets (often every 30 to 60 minutes at peak times).
Back of house: sweep and mop store rooms and corridors, remove cardboard and waste to the collection point.
After closing: deep clean floors, sanitise high-touch surfaces like door handles and counters, and leave the area ready for the morning team.
Health certificate and hygiene rules
Saudi Arabia requires a municipal health certificate for people working in food and public-health establishments. The Ministry of Municipalities and Housing has stressed its importance, and the certificate is issued through the Balady service after a medical examination at an accredited centre. If you clean inside restaurants or food courts, expect your employer to arrange it soon after you arrive.

Safety habits that supervisors notice
- Read the label. Use the right dilution. Too strong damages surfaces and skin; too weak does not disinfect.
- Never mix chemicals. Bleach mixed with other cleaners can release toxic gas.
- Wear gloves and closed shoes. Many injuries come from chemicals and slippery floors.
- Signal wet floors. A guest slipping on your floor is a serious incident.
- Report damage. Broken tiles, leaking pipes and faulty hand dryers should be reported, not ignored.
Moving up after your first contract
Good cleaners are often asked back for the next season, or offered longer facility-management contracts in malls, hospitals and offices. With experience you can become a cleaning supervisor who plans rotas, checks quality and trains new staff. Learn to operate floor scrubbers and to keep simple checklists, and you will stand out.
Questions to settle before you fly
The circular states the salary and the meal. Ask the employer, in writing:
- Is accommodation included, and where?
- Is there transport to the venue, including after late events?
- How long is a shift, and how many days off per week?
- Is overtime paid?
- Who pays for the medical and health certificate in Riyadh?
- What happens when the 6-month visa ends?
Cleaner CV checklist
- Title: "Cleaner" or "Housekeeping Cleaner".
- Where you worked: hotel, hospital, mall, office, restaurant; how long.
- Tasks: washrooms, floors, machine scrubbing, waste handling.
- Equipment: floor scrubbers, vacuum cleaners, pressure washers.
- Training: any hygiene, chemical safety or first-aid course.
- Keywords: cleaning, housekeeping, sanitation, chemical safety, waste disposal, floor care.

Avoid visa scams
You should receive an offer letter that names the company, the SAR 1,800 salary and the visa type before paying for anything like medicals or tickets. Anyone who asks for money without that letter, or suggests working on a visit visa, is not offering a legal job.
