Gulf Salary in PKR, BDT, NPR, PHP, LKR or IDR: Free Converter 2026

Gulf Salary in PKR, BDT, NPR, PHP, LKR or IDR: Free Converter 2026

Most salary converters online assume you are from India. But Gulf workers come from Pakistan, Bangladesh, Nepal, the Philippines, Sri Lanka and Indonesia too β€” and each family thinks in its own currency. This guide explains how to read a Gulf salary in PKR, BDT, NPR, PHP, LKR or IDR, and what to check before you accept an offer.

One converter, seven home currencies

Resume Arab's Currency Converter supports these home currencies:

Country Currency
India Indian rupee (INR)
Pakistan Pakistani rupee (PKR)
Bangladesh Bangladeshi taka (BDT)
Nepal Nepalese rupee (NPR)
Philippines Philippine peso (PHP)
Sri Lanka Sri Lankan rupee (LKR)
Indonesia Indonesian rupiah (IDR)

You pick your home currency once, then enter the salary in SAR, AED, QAR, OMR, KWD or BHD.

How the conversion works

Five Gulf currencies are fixed to the US dollar (SAR 3.75, AED 3.6725, QAR 3.64, OMR 0.3845, BHD 0.376; the Kuwaiti dinar follows a basket). So converting a Gulf salary to your currency is really two steps:

  1. Gulf currency β†’ US dollar (fixed, so it barely changes)
  2. US dollar β†’ your currency (this is the part that moves every day)

That is why the same Gulf salary can be worth more or less at home from month to month β€” the change comes from your home currency, not the Gulf one.

Peg rates and history as summarised by Middle East Insider's 2026 analysis; confirm with each central bank. Last checked: October 2026.

Country notes worth knowing

  • Pakistan: official and open-market rates can differ. When comparing offers, use one consistent source; when sending money, compare what the exchange house actually pays.
  • Bangladesh: the government pays a 2.5% cash incentive on remittances sent through formal channels, and the FY2026-27 budget kept it, as The Business Standard reported. On a transfer of Tk 50,000, that is an extra Tk 1,250 for your family, so avoid hundi.
  • Nepal: use banks and licensed remittance companies; check with your bank for any current incentives before sending.
  • Philippines: many workers compare offers in pesos per month; the converter shows this directly.
  • Sri Lanka and Indonesia: large numbers (thousands of rupees or millions of rupiah) are easy to misread β€” double-check the zeros.

The hidden cost of every transfer

Converting your salary on paper is one thing; getting money home is another. Every provider takes a fee and a margin on the rate. The World Bank's Remittance Prices Worldwide report (March 2025) found South Asia was the cheapest receiving region at an average cost of 4.80% of the amount sent, compared with a 6.49% global average. Corridors to the Philippines and Indonesia are measured separately, so compare providers for your own country.

A simple habit saves real money: before each transfer, check what two or three providers will deliver in your home currency for the same Gulf amount, and pick the one that delivers the most, not the one with the "zero fee" banner.

Worked example in four currencies

Take a monthly salary of SAR 1,500. At the peg, that is USD 400 (1,500 Γ· 3.75). What your family receives then depends only on your currency's dollar rate on the day:

  • In Pakistan: USD 400 Γ— the day's PKR rate
  • In Bangladesh: USD 400 Γ— the day's BDT rate, plus the 2.5% incentive through formal channels
  • In Nepal: USD 400 Γ— the day's NPR rate
  • In the Philippines: USD 400 Γ— the day's PHP rate

The converter does this multiplication with live rates, so you do not need to remember the formula.

Plan a monthly split, not just a conversion

Workers who save the most usually decide the split on day one. A simple plan for a single worker with free accommodation and food might be:

  1. Send home first. Fix a share, for example 60–70% of salary, and send it soon after payday so it is not spent.
  2. Keep a buffer. Hold one month's personal expenses in your Gulf bank account for emergencies.
  3. Budget the rest for phone, transport, food outside the camp and small savings.

If your employer does not provide food or housing, the numbers change completely, so use the cost of living calculator before you agree a split with your family. And remember that a good month for your home currency (when it weakens against the dollar) is a good month to send a little extra.

Reading your offer letter in two currencies

Offer letters list the salary in the Gulf currency. Write two lines on your copy: the basic and the total, each converted to your home currency at today's rate. Keep that note with the letter. When an agent later quotes a different "approximate" home-currency figure, you will spot the difference at once.

Before you accept an offer

  • Convert both basic and total salary.
  • Ask if food, accommodation and transport are included β€” these can be worth a large share of the salary.
  • Ask how often salary is paid and through which system (most Gulf countries use an official wage-protection system).
  • Keep a written offer letter with the salary in the Gulf currency.

FAQ

Does the converter use live rates?

Yes, it uses live market rates when available. If the live source is down, it shows a clear note that it is using an estimate β€” and it switches off the Kuwaiti dinar in that case, because the dinar has no fixed dollar peg to estimate from.

Why is the rate in my exchange house different?

Exchange houses add a margin and sometimes a fee. Compare the final amount your family receives.

Can I convert between two Gulf currencies?

Use the fixed rates above as a quick guide β€” for example SAR 1,000 is about AED 979.

Is the Bangladesh remittance incentive still paid in 2026?

Yes. The FY2026-27 budget kept the 2.5% cash incentive for remittances sent through formal channels.

Which costs more, a fee or a poor rate?

Often the rate. A provider with "no fee" can still deliver less money. Compare the final amount received.
